I have just heard that a short piano piece is being played at the Vox Novus Festival, celebrating 15 years of "presenting the music of tomorrow." The programme is still not finalised, but the performance is 24 October, Symphony Space, Leonard Nimoy Thalia, 2537 Broadway, New York.
My piece is called Leise flehen die Lieder (The songs beckon softly), and the programme note I wrote is below.

Although it may not sound like it, Leise flehen die Lieder (The songs beckon softly) is derived from Schubert's songs. An accompanying figure from one, characteristic motifs from several places, harmonies from others. These are worked up into a repeating form like those Schubert used. |
