Haiku in Edinburgh

Red Note Ensemble played my new piece Three Haiku after Bashô
 at Noisy Nights at Summerhall in Edinburgh a couple of days ago. It is for violin, trombone and flute. There was material left over from the Six Haiku I wrote for percussion last year. It wasn't suitable for the percussion quartet as it was based too much around pitch. There was no tuned percussion in Six Haiku.
I 'attended' the rehearsal on Monday via Skype. It's meant to be the way business meetings are done now, but the sound quality is not really good enough for music rehearsals. It was nevertheless great to talk to the musicians.
