This is one of several diverse pieces where I was inspired by the poems Prières dans l’Arche by Carmen Bernos de Gasztold. Although there are some thematic links between the pieces, they all stand as separate single or pairs of movements.
Prière de la fourmi was written specifically for Les Pois, and is scored for mandolin, guitar and left-hand piano. The competition is aimed at developing chamber repertory for this combination, and is supported by the Archiving Project for Left Hand Piano Music.
